Studies have shown that, when you receive a relaxing prenatal massage, the body naturally secretes endorphins. These "feel good" hormones traverse the placenta and ultimately soothe and relax your baby. Q3. Is massage safe during pregnancy? A3. Yes. Massage is beneficial and safe for most women during all stages of pregnancy. However, it is recommended that you get permission from your GP if you have a high-risk pregnancy. Massage is an extremely effective tool for promoting the health of mother and baby. Massage can reduce many of the discomforts experienced during pregnancy such as low back pain, neck and shoulder pain, decrease Oedema, decrease stress and anxiety, provide relief from headaches and improve sleep patterns.
